The Age of Artificial Mimesis: Generative & Agentic AI and the New Horizon of Future Cinema
Keynote Speech｜KIM Daeshik
Professor of KAIST
Kim Daeshik is a professor in Electrical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He received his Ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Germany and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at MIT. He has worked as a research scientist at RIKEN in Japan and previously served as an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota and an associate professor at Boston University. His publications include AGI: Angel or Demon? (2025), In-Between Human (2025), The Cinema That Never Was (2024), Incredible INDIA (2024), The Future of Humanity: Questions for ChatGPT (2023), Big Question from Kim Daeshik (2014) among many others.

Vice President of Operations at Digital Domain Holdings Limited
Jimmy Cheng is the Vice President of Operations at Digital Domain Holdings Limited(DDHL), leading the trading business (SSD/Memory) between Digital Domain and ADATA (single largest shareholder) in North/South America and Greater China. Through daily basis communication, his responsibility is to plan the SOP between the 2 companies and make sure that there will be no audit issue on Digital Domain side.
Before in charging of the trading business, he was focusing on the distribution of XR/immersive content for telecoms and platforms, such as Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone Telecom, China Mobile, SK Telecom, and Huawei. Between 2019 and 2022, he has contributed over US $3M revenue to DD’s HQ in Hong Kong from content licensing/distribution. Currently, he still represents over 100 immersive studios’ content all over the world for finding suitable distribution opportunities (online/offline) in Asia.
Presentation｜Damien PEREIRA
Chief representative of Quebec Government Office in Seoul, Korea
Damien Pereira was appointed Québec Government Office Chief Representative in Seoul in May 2024. Previously, he served as Director Growth and International Affairs at Québec's aerospace cluster, Aéro Montréal. Before joining Aéro Montréal, he was an International Affairs Advisor at Québec’s Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy, specifically within the Division of Canadian and International Innovation Partnerships. Previously, he held various positions in the private sector in France, Australia, and Vancouver, in the fields of plastic industry, IT engineering, and transportation. A graduate of the International Business School MBS Paris XIII, he holds a master's degree in Organizational Sciences and Public Affairs from Paris Dauphine University and a diploma in International Business Management from Greystone College in Vancouver. He is also a founding member of the QuébecKorea Business Association, where he served as Vice President of Innovation on the board of directors until 2024. In addition to his professional career, he is actively involved in international collaboration missions, as evidenced by his recent role as a member of the board of directors of the Global Aerospace Cluster Partnership (GACP) until 2024.

Charlie Leroy is a Franco-Canadian artist based in Montreal. Through the use of emerging technologies in video projection works, virtual reality, installations, and more broadly digital creations, he explores the interconnections between technology, access to information, free will, and their societal and emotional impacts. He questions the influence of technology on human behavior and, more broadly, its societal effects.
His practice informs his work, and he enjoys bringing his artistic and technological perspective to complex projects as well as commercial works.

Director of Burn From Absence
Émeline Courcier, born in 1995, Paris, France) stands at the confluence of personal history and artistic experimentation. As a photographer and video artist, her works are entry points into her personal and collective memory of her family. Inspired by their experience of the Indo-China war, resettlement in France, as well as their suffering and resilience, she is the inheritor of their history and the medium of their memory. She has an almost dreamlike approach, transforms the spoken testimonies into the raw material with which she explores personal identity, memory, and history. There is a nuance to her artistic practice in her unique approach to technology, particularly how she integrates artificial intelligence into her methodology. She approaches AI as a tool and a conduit to explore and reconstruct the maze of her memory and subconscious. This method enables her to dissect her relationship with her family’s past. Like a prism, one event is seen and understood from multiple perspectives.

JUNG Hwang soo is the founder of 'The Manta Story', a specialized AI visual technology company, with over 25 years of experience as a VFS Supervisor. He has overseen visual effects for numerous mega-hit projects, including Train to Busan (2016) and Hellbound (2021). He received a Ph.D with a research focus on AI from the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film at Chung-Ang University. Combining deep expertise experience with academic rigor, he is currently focusing on optimizing hybrid production pipelines and developing automation tools driven by generative AI.

Chief Growth Officer at Telia Estonia, Head of Studies at Mastering AI For European Film Professionals
Sten Saluveer is Chief Growth Officer and Head of Digital Solutions & New Businesses at Telia Estonia, the country's leading ICT and telecommunications company. A futurist, strategist, and educator at the intersection of content, technology, and innovation, his expertise of over two decades spans AI, film & content, and digital sectors across business, governance, and strategy.
He founded and serves as Head of Studies of the executive-level Mastering AI for European Film Professionals programme at Denmark's National Film School, and is an Advisory Board member of Future Media Hubs, an innovation alliance of 50+ European media companies. He previously headed the Tallinn Digital Summit, hosted by the Prime Minister of Estonia, and led Cannes Next, the innovation track of the Marché du Film — Festival de Cannes, to which he continues to contribute annually. He advises content and technology organisations on AI and digital, frequently collaborating with governments and the European Commission on innovation, AI, and policy. He has produced half a dozen films and occasionally performs as an electronic musician.

Director of The Clouds Are Two Thousand Meters Up
Singing Chen is a Taiwanese filmmaker working across fiction, documentary, and virtual reality. Her films have screened at major festivals including Berlin International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, and Vancouver International Film Festival. Her VR works explore memory, space, and embodied experience through immersive storytelling. The Man Who Couldn't Leave (2022) won the Best Immersive Experience Prize at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival, where she later served as Jury President. Her latest VR work, The Clouds Are Two Thousand Meters Up, received the Venice Immersive Grand Prize.
Presentation｜François VAUTIER
Director of DA PROD
François Vautier graduated from Fine Arts and worked with contemporary art galleries in Paris. He then embarked upon a collaboration with ARTE (a European television network). Connecting with Raphael Nadjari, he founded 'A Bout Portant' and 'Filmmaker Factory' whereby he continued to produce highly creative opening titles and his first feature film: the thriller le P'tit Bleu (2000). Continuing his research in design, he expanded on new processes of shooting in virtual studios. His second feature film Déjà Vu (2007) is a science fiction film, the story of a teenager in a futuristic fable where the reality merges with the virtual. He then prolongs the exploration of 'Parallel Worlds' in the realization of Twenty Show (2009), the first user generated film (co-directed by Godefroy Fouray). His work was presented at the WORLD EXPO Shanghai 2010.

Producer of DA PROD
Jérémy Sahel founded Da Prod in 2015, producing YouTube talents and award-winning web series. He then specialized in VR experience with Jetlag (2016), I Saw The Future (2017), Odyssey 1.4.9 (2019), Recoding Entropia (2020), Champ de Bataille (2024) and Human Violins (2024), all screened at major festivals like Cannes VR and the Venice Biennale. In 2018, he co-founded Perpetual Soup with Vincent Poymiro and David Elkaïm, focusing on fiction. They co-produced Le Monde de Demain (2022, Arte, Netflix) and have several feature films and series in development.
